As the founder of Piece by Piece, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the transformative power of art and community firsthand. Over the years, this organization has grown into a vibrant force for change, offering individuals not only creative opportunities but also hope and healing.

Here are eight reasons why Piece by Piece is truly unique and impactful:

1. Our Mission: Healing Through Art

We empower low-income and formerly homeless individuals through free mosaic art workshops. These sessions offer therapeutic self-expression, skill development, and confidence building. 

2. Community and Connection

Our workshops foster connections among diverse participants, creating supportive communities. Through shared experiences and collaboration, participants bond and support each other.

3. Addressing Food Insecurity

We provide free meals during workshops allowing participants to focus on their art in a nurturing environment where creativity and healing can thrive.

4. Skill Development and Empowerment

Beyond art, our programs teach transferable skills.  We offer growth and employment opportunities within the organization, enabling participants to gain valuable work experience. 

5. Art That Lasts and Beautifies

The mosaics created by Piece by Piece participants beautify neighborhoods and instill community pride, leaving a lasting legacy. From intricate individual projects to large-scale public installations, each piece tells a story.

6. Sustainability at the Core

Sustainability is integral to our work. Since our inception, we have prevented tons of material from ending up in landfills.

Our passionate team fosters a positive atmosphere, celebrating each participant's successes and embracing individuality and creativity.

Our work is made possible by the generosity of supporters through donations, volunteering, and sharing our mission. We are deeply grateful for the community that sustains us.
