As a local Los Angeles nonprofit, we have been heartbroken by the staggering loss across our city. As we grieve with friends and businesses that have lost so much, we are here to do what we have always done best: transform broken pieces into unique and meaningful works of art.
INQUIRE HEREIn the aftermath of such devastating loss, we are honored to help preserve lasting memories by creating beautiful mosaics that incorporate cherished mementos and fragments of recovered items. Each mosaic we create is more than art—it’s a tribute to resilience. Whether it's pieces of a beloved heirloom, fragments from a cherished space, or items that carry personal significance, we can transform what remains into a one-of-a-kind work of art that tells your story.
If you have items you'd like to incorporate into meaningful works of art, we are here for you. We are in this together, piece by piece.
This special collection of mosaics has been created with love and dedication by Piece by Piece artists to support fire relief efforts in Los Angeles. An example of including memories in a mosaic
They had washed up on shore—churned by the tides and buried in the sand over the course of more than seven decades. Beautiful but broken chips of dining china that once belonged to a hotel on a bay in Long Island.
Folks have been finding these chips for years—and we did too after we bought an old house that once belonged to the hotel's owner. But more than 70 years after the hotel burned down, what could be done with the broken pieces?
We had never quite figured it out until one day when our cousin, Anne Barnett, saw the china fragments, heard their story, and said she had the solution: the folks at Piece by Piece.
They certainly knew what to do. They took our ragtag assortment of 19th-century china chips and turned them into magnificent works of art. We now have two tabletops—mosaics made from these once-disparate chips, put together in a way that is both artful and loving.
So now, the history of our house has been burnished once again. And how great that an organization like Piece by Piece was able to create this by tapping into an underutilized and underappreciated resource.
Thank you—to the organization and the beautifully creative men and women who fashioned our new tables.
